Using tape instead of P2?

What is the disadvantage of shooting to tape instead of P2 with an HVX200a? We are hoping to shoot in 720p 24p. Thanks.

Simply put, tape on an HVX200A is is not HD. It's a very good SD camera though, arguably better in most ways than a DVX aside from the lowest light conditions at 60i. Speaking of which, there are some "jaggy" picture issues with the 200/200A mitigating against using 60i. At 24p it should be better overall than a DVX aside from the aforementioned low light issue, which is less severe at that frame rate.

Disclaimer: this is as I understand it - I'm not a DVX owner. I'm sure others will correct me if the above is substantially wrong (aside from, the SD-only tape point, which is certainly true).

i dont think anyone has said it clearly yet.

the HVX does not shoot any HD of its formats to tape. SD only
