Enough with all the pissing matches over film VS HD. In the end film works better for certain projects and HD is fine for others. I just bought the HVX and plan to use it as a b roll camera. I will use my Super 16 for all the action.
THe fact of it is, the HVX is very a powerfull tool for the price. I am more interested in finding out how it compares to a $100,000 HD package. If its transfered the same and projected side by side what are those results? I am talking only about when the HVX is on 1080p and 720 vari. If it's the same or not enough to tell. Then does that mean I just bought an HD camera package for 10 grand (with 2-8 gig P2 cards and the hard drive) that has the same quality and can do all the same shi* as a Sony 1080i and a Vari cam. Because thats about $200,000 in HD packages?
This camera make those packages seem like old, big, heavy, crap. I hope so. I am glad to see that equipment is getting smaller better and way cheeper. If it's true I feel sorry for all the folks that spent there money on those packages. If so my advice is to sell now other wise they will be useless in a couple years with the way tec is changing. RED cameras are next.
