using step down rings with Cokin P Filters

hi all, i'm taking the step into using my GH13 as my main camera and need an ND solution.

To start off I'm going with Cokin P Filters and have been advised to get the mount for the largest size lens I have (77mm) and then use step down rings for when I want to fit to my other lenses (67mm, 62mm, 58mm, 46mm)

I have found a UK seller on ebay that sells the step down rings as 'suitable for Cokin, Kood, Pro1 etc'

This is an example of one of them

This got me thinking and researching cheaper step down rings and I found these

My question is, are the 'cokin step down adapters' or 'cokin compatible step down adapter rings' just the same as any thread adapter for fitting other types of filters etc to different sized camera lenses?

If so could I just get away with buying the cheaper set of adapters (I realise I'd need to get a 46mm-49mm seperately)

Many thanks

Thanks for your reply. In the end I went for a separate filter holder for each of the 3 lenses I plan to use outside. I figured it would be quicker and easier just to swap the filter compared to swapping the whole holder and using step rings.

Turns out you also can't use the cheap thread converters too as it won't then hold the filter holder ring
