so I'm thinking about jumping the PC ship and head to Mac, but I still would like to use vegas. Does anyone have any experience with running vegas with bootcamp on a mac?
Yes, both on Mac Pro and MBP and it works great!! For me it has actually ran better... as it seems Windows as a whole runs better on a Mac via Bootcamp at least for me.
I'd also recommend getting a program that allows you to read and write NTFS drives with your OSX so that you can work cross platform and not need additional external drives for each platform and opens up cross-platform options as well.
cool thanks.. what program do you recommend. also i was told if i have video files saved on a passport from a pc and i try to plug it into a mac that it will erase the contents.
Yep, using Vegas on a MacBook Pro under Bootcamp. All appears to run OK with one exception - the Focusrite Saffire Pro 26 firewire audio interface doesn't seem to want to play nice with the bootcamp side of things. Works just peachy with OSX. Go figure.
Tuxera works just fine for keeping all of my external storage NTFS. The only issue is that it requires you to press the ALT key during boot up to provide a choice of OS, otherwise it defaults to OSX, and there are no other visible options for using Windows under Boot Camp in OSX like there were before.
The only major problem that I've run into is using secondary displays under Windows 7 on the Mac BooK Pro. Make sure to do your research and choose an adapter that others confirm will work with Thunderbolt and Windows 7.
