Using Odyssey 7Q bought in the US in Europe

Hey there,

I'm considering the purchase of the Odyssey 7Q here in the US - It's clearly a great piece of hardware and makes FS700 viable for years to come. However, I'm in a peculiar spot right now - I'm travelling to Europe in three months to work there with the European version of FS700 (FS700E). The question is - will I have any trouble with connecting O7Q to the European camera or with their power supply? Will the batteries bought in Europe work with Odyssey 7Q bought in the US? Are there other problems I might not have mentioned? I know that this question might seem dumb but unfortunately I'm not as tech-savvy as most of you surely are.

Perhaps Mitch could address this issue and give a piece of advice to us laymen regarding the usage of the US-bought Odyssey 7Q in Europe.

the FS700 and the 7Q are both devices which work with direct current, so you shouldn't have any issues. Get some travel adapters for your chargers and you're good to go...

My US Odyssey came with lots of power adapters. No need to buy an extra one.

CD has thought of everything for me! :-)

Yup, my 7Q also came with a bunch of different pins for the mains adaptor: UK, EU, even those terrifying pins you guys in the US have (seriously, how do you not die every time you plug anything into the wall? And 110V!? That's just crazy! You're all daredevils I tell ya!).

Everything else is universal - batteries and what not. I don't actually think there is any difference between the U and EK cameras (except the label) unless, for some odd reason, you can't set the U to a 50hz time base.

other than that just remember to set your shutter to 1/50th sec or you'll have flicker problems.
