FS7: Using MI shoe without a handle?

Is there any way besides ripping FS7 handle to get a MI shoe without the whole thing? I'd love to get rid of that clumsy stock handle but because of that MI shoe it still on it's place.

I'm surprised Sony didn't come out with some additional accessory to mount MI shoe in a different spot. So I guess only way is to rip stock handle wide open and create some custom accessory?

Does anyone know how much FS7 handle replacement costs?

Hey,

I'm not aware of any way to buy an alternative MI shoe attachment other than the handle. Judging by Sony's pricing on replacement right hand grips, the handle will probably be around $1000 I imagine.

I took mine apart to see how easy it could be to adapt, and was quite intimidated by the long and delicate-looking ribbon connectors running through it. I'm sure an adaptation should be possible, but I'm not sure I want to be the first one to try!
