FS5: Using Lens Support for Sony 100-400mm?

Hi! I will be renting a Sony 100-400mm G master lens soon to use with my FS5. I know that long term it would be good to have rails and lens support but could I get away with shooting for a day without lens support for this lens? I've shot with the 70-300mm and it is light enough to not be a problem but I know the 100-400 is heavier. Thanks folks!
 
Definitely lens support. It is a heavy lens and I definitely had issues with the FS7 and heavier lenses. Not so with the FS7 II because of the locking mount, which was developed specifically because heavier lenses were sometimes loosening the mount, potentially bending the flange or even not making contact. On the still side, I was shooting an alpha a9 with the 200-600 and during that shoot had several instances of the lens actually disconnecting from the camera due to the weight. And this was with attaching camera strap to the lens foot, not to the body. Even when I was shooting a longer lens with the FS7 II I would support it.
