GH1 Using iMovie on Mac. Is Final Cut Pro worth it?

I have been a GH1 owner since 2009 and I just started to get into videography. I love iMovie as it is easy to use. However, it feels like the options are limited when it comes to making adjustments to the video images. It feels like I do not have the flexibility like I do with making changes to RAW files in photography. I hear that Final Cut Pro is a very good app for editing videos. However, it is too expensive for me. Is Final Cut Pro worth the price. I mainly take videos of my family but I would like to start doing more creative / non family videos. The video below is my first attempt at it.

Thank you.

I'm assuming you are talking about Final Cut Studio that includes Final Cut Pro 7. That is an end of life product. Its replacement (many would argue against that categorization) Final Cut Pro X, is a deep and fully featured product that would give you a vast amount of editing capabilities. If you like iMovie, you will feel quite familiar with the X software although that's where the similarity ends.

The only thing to be aware of is the hardware requirements which you need to meet if you want to work with it.

Is it worthwhile only for home movies? Most probably not, but if you seriously want to go deeper into editing projects, it will certainly keep up with your demands. If you do go that route, spend some extra on some online training (about $40). It will be well worth it.

If my original premise is incorrect, apologies, although the rest of the content is still valid.
