Using ETTR for exposure with AF100??

HI, have owned the AF100 fore some time, I was actually the first one in my country to obtain one.
Now I'm in to the BMC and studying eagerly whilst waiting for the 4K to arrive.

Now, I know everything on how to shoot with the BMC I wonder if the AF100 can ETTR?

I know that if I let things overexpose it will fall appart, and that colors have to render in camera somewhat like you want them to en up BUT?

Haven't played alot with Cine-D gamma...

Planning on:
Cine-D
Chroma -7
HD norm 1
V-detail -2
Zebra 105%

Would that setting make a difference recording to Hyperdeck shuttle??

For instance recording skin tones at 95%, exposing it back in the computer to 50-55% and then raising the gamma in the shadows around the face would give a high DR look.

Theoretically it could work wonders but in practice?

Caucasian skin tones will start chroma clipping at about 91 IRE using the settings you propose. Only way to know if it will do what you want is to try it; show us the results... But don't go to 95...

Looked in resolve at some shots i took now, one exposures skin under right 105 and one under 90.
Boy were you right!
