Using Duel System Adapter with a Mac to import P2 Footage?

I am trying to use the Duel System Adapter http://www.duel-systems.com/products/adapters.aspx

with my MacBook Pro running 10.4.1 and each time
I plug it in it crashes my mac. It is doing this without the P2 card in it. Has anyone used this before to import P2 footage onto their mac? Any ideas what might be the problem?

First, of all, update to 10.4.10 with the combo updater.

Download the 10.4.10 driver from DS and the Intel?Panasonic drivers.

Repair permissions.

Launch the MBP. Once launch, insert the adapter without the card, then the card.
