In the spirit of DIY I am wondering if I can use an old charger (PV-DAC14D) to charger my HMC40 battery? It's from an old GS250 SD camera.
The specs on the back of the HMC40 charger VW-AD20 for side plug output voltage are 7.3 vs 7.9 for the GS250s charger.
The actual charge voltage to the batter for HMC40 is 8.4v for HMC40 and 8.4v for the other charger - same but HMC40 is 1.3A vs 0.65 Amp
I assume for charging it should be ok but it'll take longer ???
Also why can I plug in a battery and then power the camera via the cable and battery adaptor. Seem like the output from the side of the camera only allow power to be router from the internal power supply not the attached battery - (I could take the old charger apart I guess but I see no reason why I can't use my old batteries from my GS250 router via the adaptor on the side as the actual older batteries are 7.2 and 7.4 volts respectively.
