hello every one i have an hmc150 for like a year now. i have some footage on it mostly testing it.
now am going to start recording every sunday the service in my church . i want to pass the recorded footage to an standard dvd of course with a little of good quality of course ... am willing to spend 500 dollars in a pc that can do that for me but am without any idea...maybe this question is all over the place in this forum but if any one can help me i dont want to buy a pc that will not do the job...any info i will really apreciate... thanks

$500 is a little thin.

If you're just going to go straight to DVD without much editing or effects, any modern quad core system should be fine. If money is tight, I'd probably go with an AMD-based system and on-board video. Get as much RAM as you can afford (I'd say 8GB min.)

For straight DVD authoring, there are literally hundreds of software packages available. They all work.

* ANY * PC or laptop you can buy today will do the job of making video DVDs. I was making DVDs years ago with single core CPUs of less than 1Ghz. It takes longer, but it works.

HD footage is a different ball game, so don't buy anything less than a Core 2 Duo with 4GB of RAM if you can find it - more ram and processor preferred.

It's been a while since I looked at PC software (I use a Mac) but the usual suspects for software include Roxio, Nero, Pinnacle Studio etc.
