Using AF100 to get a few (real) helicopter shots. Gyro or no? Which lens?

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think if you switch to variable frame rate to shoot 50/60 fps, the OIS and auto focus are disabled on lenses like Panasonic 14-140mm? I am interested from peoples experience - if this is true. What would give the smoothest footage on screen. 25/30 fps with OIS or 50/60 fps with no OIS using 14-140 Panasonic lens?

So is it critical to use such a high shutter speed like 1/2000?

I don't think so. I was trying it out because I wanted as smooth slow-mo as was possible. Because it was my first time up, I didn't want to test a lot of settings. I just went up again and did 1/2000 again. Seems to work nicely, though I would be up for trying something else next time.
