Using 4:3 monitor with HVX

I have an older Sony 4:3 CRT monitor and would like to use it with the HVX.
I always shoot 720Pn (16:9). When I use the monitor the picture displays nicely
but conforms it to the 4:3 aspect. The monitor has no provision for 16:9 display.
I am unable to find a setting in the camera to change the S video out display to
16:9 letterbox, which is what I need to display properly on this monitor. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

No, your not missing anything.

S video will display 4:3 on a 4:3 monitor.

If you cant change the ratio on your monitor you image will be squished.

If you can change the monitor to 16x9 the image will appear correct

OK- guess I will use the LCD for framing and use the CRT for critical focus.
I assume there is no way to enable focus assist to be seen on an external monitor?
