Using 35mm lenses on HPX370/300

I have a project requiring some wildlife filming on the horizon and have been wondering how well 35mm lenses perform on the HPX370/300. I'm considering one of the MTF Services Nikon G to 1/3" bayonet adaptors and utilizing some DSLR lenses.

Any thoughts or experience with this set up?

Any perspective you can provide is appreciated.

I've used stills lenses with the EX3 before for wildlife. Long lenses become insanely long. Your crop will be joyously massive (~7x?)

If the adapter will fit them, try something like a Nikon 80-200/2.8 or Sigma 50-500 and use as steady a tripod as you can possibly afford.

Thanks for the suggestions. Now shopping around for an appropriate lens. In your experience is 120mm-400mm (x7=840mm-2800mm) too long?

Since you'll be using the lens at the very limits if it's MTF (given that they're designed for a sensor with far less pixels per millimeter), you might want to look into using as sharp a lens as you can possibly get your hands on, like the Nikon 70-200mm VR II.

No such thing as too long when it comes to wildlife; especially if birds are on the menu. A 70-200mm will work out to around 500-1400mm on a 1/3" cam which sounds about right to me.
