User modes and Rec check/ ATW lock as defaults

I've had my AF100 since it came out but still haven't found a use for these function which apparently Pana thought were important enough to be user defaults. In honesty I really never paid attention to user modes but figured I should start making use of them.

Perhaps I'm using these two incorrectly because when I push USER 3 (default, Rec check) it always simply says "cannot playback with this button", and when I push USER 2 (default, ATW lock) it appears nothing ever happens and there is no indication any button has been activated in my LCD. (I have never used ATW in the past but it was worth asking). I'm also amazed I can't find good documentation of this anywhere.

What functions do you have loaded in the user modes?

I think those are two of the most useless of the user buttons; don't know why they would even include them, frankly.

I have FA on user1, and Last Clip Delete on user3, and user2 varies -- sometimes it's shot mark, other times it's capture.

Thanks for the reply, Barry. I'm a little afraid of last clip delete but at least I'm not alone in thinking ATW lock and Rec Check seems out of place as a default.
