I'm leaning toward the 250. I planned to get something at the end of the year, but I'll need to delay by another 2 or 3 months if I go for the 250. The main sticking point is the lack of 1080 overcrank. Since I don't need to get something in a hurry there might be something interesting announced by someone else while I'm procrastinating.

If I was to design my own camera it would be a shoulder mount similar to the JVC 700 series with a 1/2" sensor, a fixed 20x or greater lens and something like AVC-I 100 to SD.

Actually, I'd be happy to see a 50Mb/s 4:2:2 50/60p variant of AVCHD. I need to stop dreaming.
