User Clip Name ? It works or not ? always... 1.MTS 2.MTS 3.MTS !

Hi everyone !
Thanks for reading me.
I want to change the name of my files, to not have always the 1.MTS 2.MTS...

After read the fantastic "THE AF100 BOOK" from Barry Green, i tried to use the User Clip Name with the AVCCAM Viewer with my AF101...

i enter a user clip name in the metadata of the software, i record it on a SD card.
I load it from the sd card in the AF101. I see it in the meta data properties of AF101.
RECORD ON. TYPE 2.

yes... but and after ???

i was hoping the clip name will change... no nothing, always the fu..ing 1.MTS 2.MTS 3.MTS...

the metadata are a bad joke, just unuseful or i'm silly and i'm doing a mistake ?
i'm just want to change the name of the recorded files... (as the EX1 for example) and see it as an intelligent name to not do a mistake between all my projects and my video files.
Very useful to not have the same name files when you "log and transfert" in FCP !!! isn't it ?

Anybody can help me ? Or just confirm what i think... a big bad joke of Panasonic ?
i'm hoping i'm silly HIHIHIHI !

thanks very much for your help.

Here is my solution:

1. I copy the SD-Card 1:1 like Barry writes in his book
2. Folder that holds the card content gets a name with date and subject
3. Convert all MTS files to ProRes HQ into temporary location (using ClipWrap)
4. Rename the transcode file with folder name as part of the name
5. Preview clips and pre trim in QT
6. Only copy the usable parts into my project (will be archived)
7. Always can find the original clip from the name
8. The temp folder gets recycled at some time later
9. If I need to revisit additional clips I can easily recreate the transcoded files

Just food for thought.

4. Rename the transcode file with folder name as part of the name

Hi
How To rename it? By Program ? or do it manually ?
Thanks for your help

Hi,
thank you Uwe for your advice, i've tested a rename workflow in FCP at log and transfert, it's the solution.

but i'm very disappointed by Panasonic to have in the menu "a user clip name" totally unuseful !
Very ridiculous to not easily name the video files and always have a 1.MTS 2.MTS 3.MTS...

A realy big source of problem if you not rename at the transcode in FCP, and the best way to mix the real native files.
Very very disappointed

thank you

Can Panasonic fix this in the firmware? Everytime you delete a clip you get a duplicate filename.
