Useless trivia (or) Did you know?

Scientifically, margarine is only one molecule away from being plastic. Place it in the garage for a week and it won't spoil...go think about that!

So based on the info in thsi thread, when we get hit by hurricanes later this year and our power goes out indefinitely, I need to make sure I have plenty of honey and margarine.

Part of me wants to know how you found this out. The other part would rather not. :D
It's rather prosaic, really... I was told by a friend who comes from the same boonies town in Czechlands as I do. Knowing the tastes of our shared local heritage, he recommended spreading it on a slice of rye bread, sprinkle it with some salt and caraway seed, and bite (just like we'd back home)! He even gave me a jar to try...

It's delicious. But if you grew up on burgers and donuts, it might not suite your taste.

So when you got a snack attack, ya'll reached for goose lard and rye bread? AND FURTHRMORE, coconut oil on rye is a good stand in for the ol' Disjecta grease?

Well, okay then. I have to hijack my own thread and ask people what THEIR favorite weird snack is.

Mine would have to be a peanut butter (smooth), shredded carrot and raw cabbage sandwich.

(heh! I know its dinnertime somewhere and appetites being lost!)

:D
