Used Hvx200(a) vs New hmc40 for indie feature film

Hello,
New to this site!

I am gearing up to do a little indie (low/no budget) feature and have a chance to buy a used hvx200 or hvx200a (obviously the 'a' is better I know people selling both) and the hvx200's come with a p2 card or two... Or a new hmc40 w/ xlr adaptor.

Now, I'm upgrading from the good ol dvx100A (shot my last horror feature on it in 2009, time to move on) so tapeless is new to me...

I have read so many pro's / con's regarding p2 workflow and avchd workflow which brings me to editing: I have an OLD mac with fcp 4 (yeah, i know, laugh - latley been editing at a friends house but he just moved a while back) Probably won't support p2 work flow. Would a new imac do with added ext. hd's for storage for either p2 or hmc40 work flow?

Any thoughts on this? Used hvx200 or new hmc40?
