GH2 Used GH2, artifacts in Premiere Pro cs5

Hello all,

Just bought a GH2, used, and first time out the box I updated using @cbrandin 66M GOP12 AQ2 ---stable--- hack. In the camera it looks amazing but once uploaded on the computer (Win 7 64bit, quad, 8gb of ram) into Premiere Pro CS5 its filled with artifacts all the way through the clips. Any suggestions on a different hack to try or anything else to see if its the hack or the actual camera? I've seen where people have said it may be the codec in general causing issues on a machine that can't possibly handle the load but I've shot/edited heavy 5dmkII-7d-and Oly E-5 footage with no problems.

I'm shooting in 24H, 24 cine mode, Nostalgic -2,-2,-2,0...Let me know if there's anything else that may help you answer this. Also I've noticed I don't have an actual 1080p option or frame rate options (24,25,29.97,60p) like I see most people say they use on their GH2's. It may be user era as I haven't read the manual at all either but with all the hacks I had some feeling everything was changed somehow.

Here's details on the hack as I'm sure most of you all know of this stuff already!

Thanks a ton as Ive been ready to shoot with this camera yesterday and hate the working out the kinks period you always have to go through.

Right click on the Program monitor and change your Playback resolution from 1/2 (the default) to "Full".

Thanks for the advice fellas! That solved about 98% of the artifacts. I only get the problems while previewing. Still haven't gotten a chance to export yet as I have some big files to edit down. I'm guessing ProRes would be the best conversion for it after everything is all said and done. I still get a horizontal break line half way down in the middle of the footage! Guess it's just a testing game until I can figure out the best solution against this.

I get artifacts when previewing my stock GH2 footage in Premiere Pro CS5. It all goes away when I export it though.

I have heard from folks here that CS5 had some repeatable-bug issue with the Panasonic AVCHD codec but that it was fixed in CS5.5
I don't know if this is relevant to your particular artifacting.

I'm actually upgrading to an i7 with cuda-able card. After effects and the like went from being more processor based to graphics card based in CS5 and I thought my quad would handle it fine with the stock card I've been using. Needless to say it was a bummer firing up any major project on After Effects or Cinema 4D this year. Also I am running 5.5 on premier, photoshop, and after effects! Thanks for help again guys! I'm a heavy poster on a couple car forums and it usually takes days to get any good responses back.
