Used cameras, how many hours usage is too many?

Hi guys, I'm looking at used cameras at the moment (and used Sony F3s in particular). And I'm wondering how significantly 'hours of operation' affect the condition and reliability of cameras these days?

Is 250 hours a lot? Is the camera likely to require servicing? Or does the solid-state nature of camera internals these days make usage hours just a number?

IMO, depends much more in the usage. 250 hours in a studio environment is much better than 250 hours out in the desert, on the beach or being used as rental gear. You shouldn't go on hours alone. Inspect the camera and do test recordings first (if possible). I realize that's not always possible.

Sorry that I don't know the exact answer for this but I think it would be like you said "Just a number"

Because of no moving part, the only cause of damage i can think of might be heat (internal and external) and bad working condition like humidity.

I would not worry about usage hr as much as the environment camera has been through. Some camera ( like one of mine) sits in the dark room for ages with low hour but who know it might not working when I need it now.

Just my two cents.
Cheers

Edit: Westview, pretty much like your thought. did not see your post when I was typing.

That's less than one months use. If you think of it as 10 hours a day. That's nothing, I would check the body for abuse, sensor area, etc. Yes there are less moving parts now, but like in previous post, environment would be more of an issue, where is it coming from. Make sure you have a return option, if damaged in any way.
