Use of ENG HD lenses with FS700?

Has anyone had success adapting Fuji or Canon HD zoom lenses to work with the 700? I know Sony has released a motorized version of the 18-200....but the slowness of the zoom is a problem for some. Anyone? Anyone?

Also, what are the forums best follow focus solutions for the kit lens. 15mm rod mountable good for me.

The short answer is no, not in any practical or affordable way.

There's that MTF adapter. AbelCine makes another that doesn't require a 2x extender, but costs even more:

Or the Fuji Cabrio zooms offer ENG-style mechanics/servos and cover Super35, but the price...

It requires quite a bit of (expensive) kit to get any cine rig to be even close to as ergonomic as a real ENG camera/lens... and you'll always have to deal with focusing that shallow DOF. There are definite (and under-appreciated) advantages to smaller sensors.

I use the 18-200 zoom version. Yes it's a little slow but for the price I have come to embrace it. I was just shooting a tear down of a massive tree outside my building. And yes
this camera isn't really the best ENG/run and gun cam but you can certainly make it work.

Unless you have to have an ENG lens, I'd stick with the less expensive e-mount powerzooms. They cost way less and look much nicer even if the mechanics are not as good. The lower priced ENG lenses (<$10k) designed for 2/3" sensors generally have quite bad CA and breathing and ugly bokeh, though they do have real manual focus and a long range and are more parfocal. Once you lose two stops due to the 2x extender, the Sony 18-200 f3.5-6.3 or new 18-105 f4 will look pretty fast. Most ENG lenses will end up being f4-f8 after you adapt them to S35...

I would seriously check out the micro remote series from Redrock;

I haven't actually used this solution but if you have a shoulder mount rail system with two handles you can get trigger style remotes (connects to your handle allowing your index finger to control focus or zoom)

The beauty of a system like this is that it is adaptable to any camera and useable in many different situations. If you use a constant aperture zoom lens you can set up one of the remote motors on your focus ring and the other for your zoom which will give you a truly powerful eng style solution

This will not be a super cheap option but it doesent tie you into a specific lens and offers way more flexibility which means you will have many years to use it......assuming it doesent break down.

Sony just announced a new E-mount Power Zoom, 18-105mm at a constant f/4. It's also half the cost of the old 18-200, $598 to preorder at B&H. Could be a good lens to keep around for occasional ENG work:

OMG@!!!!!
AAAAAHHHH
This looks great! This is what I've been asking for for years, something 18-100-ish, APS-C size, F4 constant, image stabilization. Boom, done. Sony is driving me crazy, they are the only people serious about making ENG-ish zooms for super35. I love what they are trying to do with glass, but I just don't like their bodies >.<

Really, this lens, with a manual iris ring and a Nikon mount attached to the Blackmagic Production Cam, is exactly what I want. Is there any kind of super ghetto Sony-E to Nikon/Canon/M43 that I am just not aware of??? :(

I use the MTF adaptor witch a Canon HD 22x7,6 2/3inch broadcast lens and a power adaptor for giving power to the lens.
You need from MTF the 2/3inch adaptor to EF mount and the MTF adaptor EF to E mount.
I have tried to use the MTF the 2/3inch adaptor to EF mount with the metabone adaptor but I don't work, vignetering.
You need the two adaptors of MTF and the extender of the 2/3 inch lens.
You lose a lot of stops, but you have a nice zoomlens with servo when you need to work fast.

The Abelcine version is no option, it's more expensive and it goes to PL mount and not EF or Emount
