FS7: Use LutCalc to Match FS7 to C300 in Canon Log ?

I have a client who sometimes hires me as a second camera with an FS7 while the main camera is a Canon C300.
It wouldn't be my first choice but I'm happy to have the work and would like to make his color matching easier.
BTW - He doesn't want to deal with LUT's in post and I will have no influence over that no mater what I suggest.
He says he is shooting the C300 in Raw - which I assume means Canon C-log.

It occurred to me to try shooting Slog 3 in CINE EI on the FS7 and then use LUTCalc to create a LUT to transform it into C-Log, and then burn that in. I'm sure it wouldn't be perfect but at least he would start with 2 pictures that are closer to being in the same ballpark.
So I made a LUT with input gamma Slog3 and Input gamut Slog3.Cine. Output gamma was C-Log and for Gamut I guessed at Canon Cinema Gamut.

I only had a chance to look at monitors briefly and while the gammas seemed relatively similar , the Sony was much less saturated than the Canon. The colorimetry in general looked pretty different as well as the saturation difference .

Was I using the best settings? I'm wondering if Canon Cinema gamut was the right choice>
I could stick with that gamut and just raise the saturation, or LutCalc also offers Canon CP IDT and also Canon DCI-P3+ . I have no idea what any of those are though.

I'm flying pretty blind as I haven't has a chance to play with a C300 and compare though I may get a chance to do some testing soon. I realize trying to match these cameras may be a bit of a fool's errand but I'd like to keep the work and serve the client as best I can.
