Hey guys
So here is a project that I worked on as a DP and Colorist last semester. We shot it with a Sony EX3 over a period of 5 weekends.

-Shot with the stock lens, except for the night orchard scene which was shot with Digi Primes.
-It was off-lined in Avid Media Composer by our editors and then I did an on-line in FCP.
-Coloring (rec. 709) was done in FCS Color with a final master format of Prores HQ and an HDcam 4:2:2 master.

Synopsis: A mysterious ranch summons a hired gun to exterminate a violent coyote infestation, though they soon discover the true threat is something much more ancient and evil.

Im not a big fan of the story, but I think that it came out pretty well on the visual end of things. :)
Let me know what y'all think.

Thanx

Paul,
Is this a thesis project, or heaven forbid, an undergraduate project. Either way, quite impressive. I have a 15 yo that wants to major in film and USC is on the list.

Cool, thanks for taking a look.
Actually it is an undergraduate project from a course called CTPR 480 where the school funds 4 projects each semester. It would be the equivalent to a graduate thesis, but in a smaller scope.
Tell your son to go for it and apply. Its a great school and I wouldnt have gone anywhere else. I actually only applied here, I didnt care to have a safety school.
Just the name of the school alone has already opened some pretty big doors for me.
So of course Im prejudice when it comes to talking about film schools. :)

Looks great! It was compelling enough to watch all the way through. I've seen much worse on TV! It seemed to have a good budget, though the dead cow was kinda hokey. But who has budget for a real looking dead cow? The credits at the end were cool. The glimpses of the creature near the end were like a dude with a coyote pelt on his head. I liked the Indian with the scar - he should have said something in English to the exterminator. I could see this becoming a full length feature with a few tweaks. The rancher was too goofy. He needed to be more leader-like and less buddy-buddy. All in all I'm pretty dang impressed. I wish I could have gone to film school it must be fun.

Keep rockin' man.
