USB Connection and P2 Card(s)

I purchased my HVX a few months ago, but just received my rebate P2 card. I'm trying to install the P2 driver on my PC... my camera didn't come with a usb cable (should it have?)... I found an old usb cable that I thought might work, but my computer doesn't see the camera (no response at all when I connect the cable)... yes, I have the P2 card installed in slot 1 on the camera.

So my questions are:

- exactly what type of usb cable do I need to purchase?

- any suggestions on inexpensive adaptors to go from an express card slot on a laptop to P2?

- what about for a desktop?

Thanks in advance. I was excited to finally get the P2 card, but now I can't seem to use it :)

Is the cam in USB host mode? Details on that in the manual. Seems like the cam should come with a cable but any cable with the right ends will work.

As far as I know the Duel adapter is the only one.

If you've got a pci slot open Spec-comm has a card that fits in and accepts p2s from the back of the machine. Seems card bus cant have much of a cable length at all. Panasonic also has a USB card reader that I swear also can fit in a drive bay, but its rather expensive.

The camera doesn't come with either a USB or Firewire cable.

In order for your computer to see the camera, set the camera for USB mode, switch to MCR mode using the MODE button, and once in MCR mode, press and hold down the MODE button for another three seconds to initiate the USB connection.

Thanks guys. It seems the cable I was trying to use was no good... I found another one, and it works as advertised.
