yes. DV only needs 3.5 mb/s. USB 2 is 48 mb/s max. 10-30 mb/s typical.

Good idea not to run a bunch of other USB devices at the same time as they all share the power.

I've used it with a 5400rpm external USB 2.0 drive, worked well...

good to knwo thanks. Also with sharing the USB 2.0 hub, it will lower your bandwidth, as there is a limited amount avail.
