I might move US to UK. I Have all US Lighting and gear. What would I have to buy to use all my US Lighting and gear in UK.

I like the Optimus Prime transformer. Why did he have to die? Why why why?

come on guys.. it was a serious question.. let's phase out the transformer jokes. :cheesy:

Yeah transformers (a load of them) - Might make sence to consider selling and then buying new kit.

Um....you probably won't have to buy anything except new bulbs for the lights, and change the connectors.

Your other gear is probably either multi-voltage already, or useless no matter what. You're moving to a PAL country, so throw the NTSC stuff away. :)

new bulbs?? wow i had no idea. so bulbs in uk are different? where do you buy this kind of stuff? bulbs/connectors...now i buy at evs and places like that.

and where do you buy pro quality transformers stepup from 120v to 220v

no.. what was sugested (was totally obvious and has me smackign my forehead) is that you just hange out the 110v bulbs to 240v bulbs when you get to the uk, and then put a new plug on the cable. - the cables and actualy light fixtures don't care what voltage runs through them (within reason..). You won't need any transformers - at least for lights.

It may be easiest to sell you gear as a complete kit and buy fresh. I would avoid transformers. For the high currents that a lot of lights would draw they would be very heavy and expensive.

If you are looking to buy PAL kit, may I suggest www.bblist.co.uk - You'll find everything you need there.

Well, the other way 'round, actually.

I've never actually seen them out in the wild...only at the PX, which you can't go to.

Obviously, someone makes them, but I've no idea who.

But check your equipment first. A lot of equipment that we use is switchable, or automatically switching.
