Can you just use it as 2 channel receiver .. stuck onto a non mi shoe camera.. ?
Can somebody explain to me what exactly this does? I'm actually kind of confused reading it. I was getting ready to pull the trigger on two Sony wireless mics (UWP-D11s) plus Sony's multi-interface shoe adapter (SMAD-P3) and want to make sure this isn't something I should be looking at. I leave in just over three weeks to film a doc in Alaska with my FS7 where I will be needing three channels of audio (two wireless and a shotgun) and was going to use Sony's UWP-D11s do it. Basically, I was going to have the shotgun in XLR 1, a wireless in XLR 2 and the other wireless mounted on the SMAD-P3. Is this a product that would be better suited for what I need?
Both XLR jacks would be freed up because the receiver doens't use either one of the XLR jacks when it is mounted to the MI-shoe. Both channels are sent through that connection simultaneously.
