Hi Guys,
We have a bit of a dilemma here. We're down at, quite literally, the end of the end world, the far side of Tasmania. And the Odyssey7Q we're using with the F35 is not playing ball... or the F35 is not playing ball with the Odyssey7Q... either way, nothing is working.
In my tests and camera prep with the camera and recorder we had some slight issues, but now nothing is working. 12-bit 4:4:4 ProRes at 25p is constantly showing interlacing artifacts on either the top or bottom half of the screen (changing cables, rebooting, switching settings etc. - nothing seems to fix it). We tried moving to 10-bit 4:2:2 ProRes HQ over a single SDI, but that didn't work either, our footage all recorded looking blue.
On top of this, nothing we do, and nothing our soundie has tried will get an audio signal into the Odyssey7Q. Neither of the XLR inputs on the IF box will send a signal down the dual-link SDI to the Odyssey, and even plugging directly into the Odyssey's 3.5mm AUDIO IN port yields nothing. The Odyssey's audio input option is permanently blanked out on SDI Only, so we can't change the input to any alternatives.
We also can't find any way to jam sync either the camera or the Odyssey to the soundie's 788 mixer. Only a constant hard wiring will sync them.
So yeah, we have no working picture, and no working sound.
Fortunately I packed the PIX240 in the car as a backup, and that's been fine with the 10-bit 4:2:2 signal and timecode sync. But we've put down a reasonable chunk of cash to hire the Odyssey7Q in order to get 12-bit 4:4:4 and 50fps (and the much better monitor), and it's really hurting us not being able to get it working.
Has anyone encountered similar issues and had any luck resolving them?
Any help would be hugely appreciated. We're a long way from home and tech support down here.
Cheers,
Mark
