I"m shooting a timelapse scene of the sun setting. So going from 7pm when its still light to 9pm when the sun sets. I'm looking for a 5second shot give or take. What interval settings do you think would be best on the HVX to get this shot. i'm looking for a nice smooth transition. Shooting in 3hours so please respond as soon as possible.

i"m also assuming i should have it on auto iris AND auto white balance?

thanks guys.

Do the math on the time interval needed based upon shooting 30 frames per second or 60i.. That will give you the interval. I think that you should probably also aim at a 10 second timelapse as 5 seconds for a 3 hour interval will be so fast and crazy....

Also, set your exposure for what's going to be the optimal the shoot. Don't use any auto features as that will ruin the effect. Predict where it will be optiaml for exposure and leave it there. Same for camera position too.. Just use your own judge. You might be a bit blown out at the beginning but it will be sweet when the money hits.

Also since it uses the same data shoot it in 1080 30p or maybe 60i if you'd like and then you can resize it later.. 720 timelapses is a bit more of a waste.

cheers and good luck

thanks guys. i was thinking maybe i'll adjust the iris as i go along cus i'm going from day to night. i'll see how that goes. by the way we rescheduled that shot so i get to do some testing now :)
