I am looking at a 2007 hvx about an 8 1/2 rating with 600 plus hours on it including a 16g p2 card 4 batteries, chargers, rain gear, cables and other little extras. Is 2400 a steal for all this or just ok?

Is it an "A"? I personally wouldn't recommend purchasing an HVX200P at this point...

Why not? I actually use both 170 and 200a, and to be honest, I prefer the 200a. If you need tape it's a no brainer. The 170 definitely has some advantages and there are pros and cons to both. Just curious what your rationale is.

EDIT: Were you referring to the 200 and not "A"...maybe I misread that.

why what is wrong with a hvx200P still a great camera.. how much different is there in the hvx200p to the A model

The "A" model has a much-improved sensor compared to the original HVX200P. For me, the difference in apparent noise and low-light capability is night and day! This is a real, significant IMAGE QUALITY difference, not a minor feature difference.

No. 600+ hours . . . it's NOT a steal.
There are HVX's out there with less than 100 hours at around (or below) 2K . . . In fact there's at least one in the Marketplace right now (guy also has it on eBay).

Best.
