Urgent help for sound issue

I filmed a youth group session on my Canon 550D with magic lantern installed (this is going back a few months) with my Rode NTG-2 shotgun mic nice and close to the subject. The levels all looked fine, all healthy and green on the lcd screen. When it came to editing the piece together it still sounded ok, although a little low with quite a lot of background hiss, but nothing that Adobe Audition wouldn't be able to clear up.

The clips sound completely fine through my amp & speakers from the line out of my laptop, however THE PROBLEM is when you hear the sound through the macbook's speakers it sounds terribly low-volume and tinny, like all the bass has been cut from the voices? This problem is apparent when playing the clips from the quicktime source files, the timeline in CS5.5 and worst of all in my encoded & authored DVD's! Even normal tv speakers play this weak, tinny output from DVD. What has happened here? On the same night of filming i recorded some other interviews and the sound if fine, it's just these few clips, they are not corrupted, the transfers went fine from SD to HD, and they play fine through my amp and speakers, just not on laptops and tv speakers.

HELP!! I dont know what todo. Its a really important sequence of 'final thoughts' for this youthgroup DVD that i need to finish by next week!

I've included a sample of one of the clips (encoded to H.264 with uncompressed audio) to see if anyone has any suggestions? How can i make the audio useable on any speakers? Have i messed up a bitrate somewhere?

Here's the mov file... Right Click Here, Save As

Please give me your advice

Cheers

James.
