URGENT* DV capturing Issue, says my scratch is full when its not and stops capturing

I'm trying to capture some footage for a client to edit themselves off these DV Tapes

it stops every 9min 24sec 29frames

my scratch disk is set to my external which has 300GB left on it and no limits are set with it.

I figured I'd just start up capture each time it finished and place the clips together, but they're missing frames.

What's going on?

The only thing that is set for the scratch disk is:
Minimum Allowable Free Space on Scratch Disks: 2047 MB

Please help ASAP, the client just informed he wishes to pick up the footage tomorrow (originally i was going to edit, and I was going to edit over the weekend)

Thanks!

Do you have it set to a batch capture or the out point set to that specific spot for some reason?

Or possibly that under your user preferences you have it set to "abort capture upon dropped frames" and that the frames drop at that point for whatever reason

first question:

I just have it all set to the external

second question:

Yes that was checked (unchecked it) but would it stop at 9min 42sec 9frames everytime and say it was full because of that?

First question: I mean that when you log and capture you can do something called batch capture, that captures specific time codes. I was wondering if the out point was set at something, but i don't that that is the case.
Second Question: No it shouldn't say it is full, but it could cause it to stop at that point if there were dropped frames.

New question: Do you have everything set to the external? ie Video, Audio, Waveform, Thumbnail and autosave?

Also you could try to erase your user settings in fcp and start it all from the presets it came with.
In the Finder, go to Home/Library/Preferences and remove the "com.apple.finalcutpro.plist" file from the Preferences folder and also remove the "Final Cut Pro User Data" folder from the Preferences folder. (this is from apples website)

ah sorry man its getting late :p

yea i was trying to avoid to save the erase for last resort,

and yes i do have everything going there
