Hi All,
I'd firstly thank you for all the words of wisdom you've provided on so many topics.
I currently am renting a DVX100 (original) for a 3-week film shoot, and encountering a rather nasty problem with audio.
Namely, no matter what I do with my input settings and "line/mic" toggles on EITHER channel, I cannot get my shotgun mic to be read by the DVX and featured as the primary recording device.
My searching here and poring through the manual has not helped to solve the problem. I can get sound from the onboard microphone quite fine.
I did get a signal from the shotgun once today (and we used it to shoot a key scene) but have not been able to recreate such success - at least I know all the components work. Of note, as soon as the camera was turned off and back on, the shotgun was again silent.
Can anyone help? It's possible, being a rental unit, that some obscure function is on, or I'm just missing the boat with the audio controls - but, frankly, they seem rather obviously labeled.
Thanks in advance - if you have a thought, please post it, as I resume shooting tomorrow afternoon!
Best,
Steve
