urgent advice needed on shooting/editing format hvx 200 (dvd burning/fest submissions

Shooting on mini dv....no choice. I am going to submit the film to fests and will need to burn dvd's for submissions.

The requirements for presentation formats are:

sony hdcam cassette in 1080 (60i, 59.94i, 24P, 23.98P, 50i, 25P) - TIFF

Betacam SP (NTSC) - Cinefest

DigiBeta tapes - Telluride

I will be shooting in 16:9

I had preferred 30p to make it simpler and because my editor doesnt do pull downs..........so am i stuck with doing 24p then?.......and editing somewhere else.....please help.

You can't have HD with mini DV tape (with the hvx of course), so you can shoot widescreen SD 24P and use a soft like premiere pro (just an example ^^) to edit it in the good format. Is it answer your question?

You could turn 30p into 60i if your editor won't do pulldown or whatever you're saying. Is this festival that important? Maybe you should just find an SD festival or a p2 card and a hard drive to dump to. Whatever you do run some tests through the entire workflow before you shoot or you will regret it.
