I'm needing to capture 8 minidv tapes on to my drive on a 30i timeline because I shot in 24p Normal on the dvx100 a while back. I am capturing tape #1 as I type this. I'm hoping that there is a way to upload to the 23.97fps timeline instead of 30i because my planned viewing for this footage is for output for the web and I'd want progressive for that not interlaced for best quality. So before I commit the time to capturing the rest of the 7 tapes on a 30i timeline, would someone let me know if I can just upload into a 23.97 fps timeline instead or will I have problems on output? Am i stuck basically with a 30i timeline?
I think the footage uploads into a 23.97fps timeline as well...and looks OK on the timeline..but i'm scared it would have some side effects like jerkiness or other artifacts upon outputting the footage to a video file since it was shot on 24 P Normal which as I understand it is meant to be edited on a 30i timeline?
