URGENT! 16:9 adaptor help!

Can someone please help me? Just received my camera and 16:9 ana adaptor etc. Very carefully screwed the adaptor on, although didn't seem a convincing fit. Tried to take it off again, just too make sure I wasn't making an obvious mistake (the instruction leaflet is very bad) but now it just spins around -- I can't get it off! Only thing I can think is that I've cross-threaded it, although I'd be appalled at the build quality of the thing if it is that easily done by someone nimble-fingered being very careful on a big clear table rather than someone cold out on the side of a windy mountain. Talking of which, that's where I'm off to tomorrow -- I was thinking of shooting stuff 16:9 anyway, but it seems now that I won't have much choice...

Any suggestions? If I need to get it serviced :-[ then it'll have to wait until I'm back in a week's time...

Didn't you read in the instructions, putting the ana adapter on the camera is a one time thing. There is no going back. Once on the ana adapter creates a chemical bond with the camera, physically changing the stock leica lens into a Panavision 16:9 lens. It is quite remarkable all in its own. I think they used nanobots to accomplish this. Sorry for the bad news, but try and look at the bright side.

bwahahaahah!! :)

tighten the  mounting screw like the instructions say to.. if the  lense is spinning, its cause the screw isnt tight enough.. warning do not break the screw by overtightening.  heres what you need to remember : the screw has to be tight(darn tight) to put the lense on or take it off. the only time you should have it loose is if you have to adjust the lense on the camera once its screwed on.

..if you loosen the screw to try and remove it or put it on, then you will get nothing but cheese

Re: URGENT! 16:9 adaptor help!

Hey everyone,

Problem shooting with my new 16:9 lens.
There seems to be vignetting as seen in this frame capture:

You can see a significant degradation in video quality once cropped. I need to fix this problem...

I shot with the Chrosziel 411-53P 4x4 mattebox. The above shot was shot on full wide. Is it shooting at full wide that caused this problem or is is that I did not mount the anamorphic lens on properly? Luckily, the vignetting is outside the action safe area. The weird thing is, I did not see any of the vignetting in the EVF or LCD screen when shooting that day.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: URGENT! 16:9 adaptor help!

was you adaptor modified to work with the mattebox..(did it have the lense hood shaved off?)

Re: URGENT! 16:9 adaptor help!

Looks like that might have been from the matte box (try without the mattebox and you'll be sure).

You won't see vignetting like that in the viewfinder or the LCD... they don't show "full frame", they only show TV Safe. You need an external monitor with underscan in order to see the full frame.
