Upres question

Hi there, I know a lot has been written about upresing dvx footage to hd.
I work at a tv station and have a workflow type question.

First off, I have HDCAM, BETA SX, BETA SP and other decks at my disposal. To this point I have been shooting with my dvx in 24p squeeze mode. I have been transfering my mini dv tapes to BETA SX to maintain timecode.

After that, I have been ingesting my footage through a HDCAM deck (which will take BETA SX tapes as well ) into an avid symphony based editing system. I edit an HD project and export to HDCAM tape.

I've been fairly pleased with the results but I'm not sure I am doing the right upres steps. Any suggestions?
 
I would ask why shoot to tape at all? Seems like a pain to transfer then ingest. Take your p2 cards direct to the avid and you'll save a step and a few potential problems. Once cut you can dump to whatever you want just like before.

Note: I cut on 2 MC's, so am a bit in the dark on Symphony. My other suggestion is to read this http://community.avid.com/forums/t/65409.aspx
 
I am shooting with 2 dvx camera's so I have to shoot on tape. My question is really do I do the upres while ingesting into the AVID? or do I cut the show and then do the upres.
