GH2 Uploading to Youtube

So I shot an interview with the GH2 and the footage looks great. However, when I exported it the video lost so much detail and the quality is not the same. Is there any way to export to youtube and keep the same quality?

What editor are you using? You're always going to lose detail when going online but can take steps to minimize the quality loss. H264 is the way to go.

Im using fcp 7. What about vimeo? What settigs should i use?

You can check with the Vimeo Compression Guidlines: https://vimeo.com/help/compression

Also, Final Cut 7 has a share menu where you can publish sequence using a YouTube preset. You can actually publish directly to youtube with that feature, if you want.

In my experience, no. The upload will always lose something. I find it loses a LOT more on Vimeo with a free account. YouTube looks much better. But still not quite as good as the original. Your saving grace is that only you see the original.

Here is a tutorial/workflow that i use when i export from FCP7. He talks about 2.35 aspect ratio but you can skip over it. But you will generally get how to do it.

Yes, I've tried everything and nothing looks like the original ;/ I've seen great looking video on Vimeo though so I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong.
