Uploading Issues with Panasonic in FCP

I am having trouble uploading video in FCP. One by one, my cameras are not being recognized when I try to log and capture. I have 3 Panasonic AG-DVX100As and 2 Panasonic AG-DVX100B cameras. I also have 6 consumer Panasonic 3ccd cameras. Earlier this week, two cameras were still able to upload, now NONE!

I am trying to upload via firewire on emacs with OS X (version 10.4.10) and a powerbook g4 with Mac OS X (version 10.4.10). I have purchased new fire wires and have tried them as well. Still nothing.

The motherboards were faulty on the EMACS and were replaced late last year. I can't figure out why things aren't working so I am hoping someone has a suggestion as to what I can do or an idea as to what could have caused the problem.

Dead firewire ports on your camera?

Do you plug the firewire cable into the camera with the camera and computer powered on? If so then you are running a high risk of killing the firewire ports on the cameras. You should power both down before you plug in. You can also just plug in with the camera off if you never unplug your cable from the computer.

Do you plug the camera in and put it into VTR mode after Final Cut is running? If so you have to make final cut recognize the camera. Try shutting down final cut and re launching it.
