Upgrading to HD

I do video production as a side business--a small-scale deal mostly doing performing arts productions for middle and high schools and private studios. In recently moving from a small town to a metro area, I'm realising it's probably time to upgrade from SD to HD. I currently use a Pan DVC60 and would rent DVXs for multi-cam shoots. I'd like some advice on the least painful method for upgrading to HD. I'm aware this would involve getting not only a new camera, but also updating my editing computer to be able to handle editing HD footage and output to Blu-Ray.

Again, I currently use a DVC60; my editing computer is a PC I built right before AMD got rid of the 939 socket (yea kinda old). I'm using Adobe PP and that same level AE and Encore. My DVD production machine is a Rimage 2000i. This is gonna hurt, isn't it?

id say the easiest transition for you would be an hpx170. its a three chip camera, so you wont have to endure any of the rolling shutter jello effects and its format dvcprohd is nearly as easy to edit as sd footage.

HPX170 vs HMC150/160?

Are your clients asking for HD, and do they have Blu-Ray players?
If yes, then an upgrade is in order. If they are requesting DVD's then why spend the money?

HPX170 vs HMC150/160?
yeah. ive used an hmc150 a couple of times and i dont like anything about it. its video quality is fine. i just dont like it nearly as much as my 170. from an image / ergonomics / features standpoint
