Purchased a new DVX200 this month which shows to have 1.81 firmware however cant find the New Focus Menu options. I seemed to have dug into the menu but cant seem to find it.
 
It is called RTFM - people always think there is something wrong with their camera or the software. Unlikely. You need to dig deeper.

You also need Barry Green's free downloadable book. It is the best resource out there. You can download it as a PDF -- the index has links to every subject. This book is also an interesting read and has numerous articles. You cannot call yourself a DVX200 cameraman without reading this book (well sorta). I just encourage you to read, study, and keep digging into the menu. What you seek, you will find. Let us know when you find it. Keep going.
 
Hey thanks! I thought it might be the case- as for Barry's book I'd love to get a copy- unfortunately I'm forced for a bit to wait on a computer and left staring at phone- if you know where to get a hard copy I'd dig it up. Cheers!

Barry's book is only on PDF and it is free. I would like a printed copy. Though of bringing to Office Depot and printing it out. It is over 200 pages. Man, I hope your computer soon. Must be tough without it.
 
Yeah, kinda pushing the cart before the horse..yes need that book! Found the focus setting thanks and tried it out- Like it! My important tests today are the focus assist and white balancing daylight then night with attached led light.

LOL good to hear that you found it. This camera is complex and I am still learning things about it. Hope all is well
