FEATURE: Update to BLOOD TIES distribution

As I move into production on my new feature ALTERED, shooting in Chicago, Gary, and Atlanta this summer, I am still pushing my first and second films, BLOOD TIES and KERBEROS.

BLOOD TIES had it's official World Premiere back in March, and we not only packed the house of about 250 people, we had to turn away nearly 100 people for the first screening and then put in about 70 to 80 for our second show. Since our distributor, Afterlight Pictures set this up properly with actual box office receipts, we ended up on all the box office reporting sites including Box Office Mojo. Certainly not competing on actual weekend takes, but we did manage to place #22 in the U.S. under per screen average... happy to take it!

Our premiere was able to generate some Internet buzz and even our facebook presence probably added a 1000 pictures, as well as reviews and comments not only on Facebook, but on our IMDB page, etc...

The process of getting the movie out there is just that... a process. We have started on Amazon, went to Indieflix, and have now been on Amazon Instant Download for about 3 weeks. Hulu and then Netflix is coming up and we are in negotiations with a couple different aggregators for world wide pay per view...

Amazon ranks movies by their number of sales and downloads... some movies are of course ranked in the hundreds of thousands... and though we are just getting started and have only sold a few hundred physical DVD's (and getting nice reviews and comments from around the world on them!), on Amazon downloads under "military and war movies" under "hot new releases", we hit #2 and are holding under #5 Not sure what it all means yet, but we'll take it!

With more than a 1000 downloads on Indieflix (again with lots of nice comments coming in) that means we are getting near 10% of their customer base... it bodes well for when we drop into Netflix which has its huge subscriber base of over 8 million!

I'll try to keep posting what's going on, and where we are at with it all - hopefully the info is both interesting and useful for all who are out there making it happen on their own projects.

KERBEROS will be released later this year - taking advantage of the lessons learned, connections, and the fan base we are building on BLOOD TIES.

And LOTS of info coming hard and fast on ALTERED!

New pics and notices on Altered FaceBook daily

Very interesting Kely. So are you getting a paycheck from Indieflix or does that go through AfterLight? How about the other sites, hulu netflicks etc.? Did you do any of that yourself or did you go through Afterlight from the begining?
Keep up the good work.
