Update question

My MKiii firmware version is 1.1.3 I was wondering if is it worth updating to the newest version? I have heard in the past that sometimes updating isn't the best move?
 
If you upgrade you can't run magic lantern. If you do upgrade you get a clean hdmi out which doesn't seem to do much. I'd got for magic lantern...... It's magic!
