Update on My camera...

For those who saw my post before the site's software upgrade, I was the guy who had a spring and a small part fall out of the camera. Well after speaking to Panasonic, they suggested I send it to Fox Valley Video Service near Chicago. I spoke to them today and the camera is on it's way back to me. That's fast service. They told me that they were unsure of the origin of the parts, because the camera was still working. So they went ahead and replaced the ENTIRE tape mechanism, heads and all. He said it comes to them in one piece and they just drop it in.

Thanks, that is some good info, and congratulations, even though they might be a very nice and competent company, it seems you had some luck!

Heck. Every time I rebuilt an engine, there were always parts left over.

I think most things are designed to operate with up to 5% of their innards missing.

Hey, I'll remember that when I need to borrow a kidney, a lung, or other extra part.

I knew an employer who would slip a few extra bits into units new employees were working on, if they came to him at the end of the job & admitted they had bits over they were OK, if not he sacked them! you may have had one of these !!
