Hi there
here below you can find the trailer of my first feature. It's in Turkish language but English subtitled. The file is not large(230MB). It looks amazing on davinci monitor. Color graded with Davinci resolve. Zeiss CP2's used. Recorded on Hyperdeck Shuttle2 as ProRes. Theatrical release in April. Reviews and opinions will be greatly appreciated.

thanx

i would love to but as i am not the DP of the movie i can't detail the whole feature's lighting set-up. But i can say the only light we had was 1xdedo light set, 2x650 arri tungsten, and 2x575 HMI:) other than i would love to give any details.

Excellent trailer, I want to watch the film now. Great tension, performances and drama as well as photography and soundtrack. I'd love to see it on a big screen.

Finally it proves what can be done with strong ideas and vision but relatively inexpensive camera gear (in comparison with chemical film or higher end electronic cameras like Alexa).

Has it been to festivals? Any distribution deals in Australia?

Michael

Thanx for kind words guys. If i tell you the budget of the movie you will not believe to me, so i will keep it as secret:) The actors are great, the fella with the white beard was in Ben Affleck"s "Argo". I am trying to release it in Turkey in April. Turkish film industry is soooo saturated, we just have 2000 cinema salons in whole country but 130 feature is been shot only in 2014.
VPF is the biggest issue for the small and indie producers like me. i want 40 copies for my movies as should be aprox. between 200-300 copies. But the distributors ask the VPF as cash before the release as they never risk their money. This is not fair!! because how it used to be, you give your movie to the distributor he puts it on cinemas, on the first income he takes the VPF which is 650$+VAT in Turkey. And than you share the income with him, which is 50/50. But now he asks it cash!!! that means i need to pay 650$+vat*40=35$K for only 40 copies and if it's not make 10.000 audience in first 3 days they remove your movie from the cinemas. I'm still fighting with distributors. I have no idea about Australian distribution. We applied to Berlinale and north virgina film festival BTW . I would love to see my movie finding chances on screening abroad. Even if not, you will be able to watch it on Vimeo-on-demand in few months, just for few dolars:)

My thoughts on distribution: you don't have to worry too much about having screening versions (VPFs?) if you approach festivals first. Your film seems like strong arthouse material and I mean that in a complimentary way, so getting into festivals will give you good momentum to raise extra money for distribution. I'm sure you've thought about crowdfunding...

A few thoughts re distribution in Australia
- Sydney Film Festival - Home
- MIFF 2014 | Home
- Palace cinemas - a local arthouse cinema chain Contact Us | Palace Cinemas | Share our passion.
- Dendy cinemas - a local arthouse cinema chain iconmovies.com.au
- SBS TV is a multicultural broadcaster which oftens screens non English films SBS TV | SBS Radio | SBS On Demand, news, sport, food, movies

Good luck

Ahhh thanx for detailed contact list , i will contact each of them carefully. I hope i'll get some interest for the movie. Under normal circumstances they don't even reply to mails:) btw i thought Virtual Print Fee(VPF) is same for every country just the numbers are changing. we used to pay 800$ when it was actual film copy, as it's digital now they switched it to 650$. The only difference is we used bring the movies in 4-5 rolls which are costs money, now you give the same money but you give your movie on a usb stick costs only 2$'s :)
