I have a $2500 budget for a starter audio kit, but I'm unsure what to mic and mixer or recorder to buy. I'll mostly use them for narrative shorts (mic to the recorder or mixer) and event coverage like parties (mic straight into cam.)
I'm shooting with a Sony FS100 (2 XLR), but I'm unsure if I should get a 2ch mixer or an Oade Brothers Edirol R-44 Super MOD with much better preamps than the stock one, plus the R-44 has gain pots for each channel so it works like a 4ch mixer?
Regarding the mic, I've thought about Sanken CS-1/CS-3, Senneheiser MKH416/MKH60.
What kit would you put together with $2500?
