Unsolicited Spec-Comm Phone Calls

In the last week, I have received three unsolicited phone calls from SPEC-COMM informing me of sales and repair services. I would hope that Andrew Hoffman and his employees are not using this board as a resource for new leads and violating "do not call" laws.
 
Woah. That seems awfully strange.
My experience with them has always been positive.

I assume you let them know you don't want to be called again?
 
This seems very strange indeed. I bought my camera from Spec-Comm and had a great costumer service experience with them.

I have never recieved so much as a phone call from them. I believe Andrew frequents these boards, so perhaps he can clarify the situation.
 
Yeah, I should add that I also bought my camera from them, and I've never once received a phone call either. In fact, I don't think I've ever received even an email advertisement from them.
 
Don't know what to tell you except that someone named Mike Taylor at Spec-Comm keeps calling my office from 301-790-0103 saying that if I ever need service or repair to call him at their 800 #. I've never called them or had any dealings with them at all.
 
If you've never had any dealings with them at all, then there has to be some sort of mistake here.

I would suggest calling them or getting in touch with Andrew through this site.
You might want to send him a PM and let him know what's going on.
 
what's the 800 number he gives?

my first instinct, given their reputation, is that someone who is not spec-comm is pulling a fast one of some kind - but who knows?

Did you pm Andrew?

EDIT: I emailed, him - which I mention here so others don't contact him as well.

Sure we will hear from him soonish ...

I'm looking into this matter with our Sales Manager as I type this. I do know that we do not use this board for lead generation.

I will keep you all in touch as soon as I find this out. In the mean time, would you like to be removed from the list?

Our out going line is the same as our local line. That number is 301-790-0103. Our toll free number is 1-800-359-1858. I hope this clears things up. :)

On a serious note, while it's unfortunate that this sort of mixup happened - I'm glad to see such quick action taken to rectify it.
 
Just had a PM from Andrew Hoffman who resolved the issue. Seems like the lead came from a former employee 4 years ago and it was a coincidence that the calls just started recently. My thanks to Spec-Comm for quick action.

Your company can call me anytime bro. I bought a camera from you and had an issue with the opperation of it and you helped me out bigtime. :thumbup:
 
I stand by Emily and Andrew Hoffman 100% . I had my HVX 200 there for service and they both called me with question conserning the repair. I thank thats about as good as it gets. It was repaired and returned promptly
