Unreal!!!

Wow.
Thanks for that link.

Does anyone know of a video using this audio recording technique?
I wonder how well that would work...

I mean, obviously you could shoot a whole POV thing - but I'm wondering how well it would work with a conventionally shot work...the edits would probably kill the effect.

In case anybody really wants to know:

But as always... it's the studio space that's ALWAYS the most important factor. This wouldn't be as impressive with an ORTF in my kitchen, but I'll bet you'd still be surprised how good the effect really is.

If you want to try and do a video with this effect then camera mount two hyper-cardioids (or cardioids, but NOT omni) on the cam in an ORTF array... on a short stereo bar so that the mic heads are about 7-8" apart and facing out at approximately a 45 degree angle... then you can edit however you like and the pov effect will remain constant... and if you use headphones it will be surprisingly effective.

But unless the video-watcher is doing it with headphones, you lose a lot of the effect.

Mmmmm...or should I say the effect is messed up? After all, the person who recorded it did the what-your-ears-hear thing already. Listening without headphones means your ears are gonna do it again.

This is why we mix in surround....
